Glow and the Sun

Photoaging: myth or reality?

Of course I’ve heard about “photoaging” and the claim that “tanning is out of style nowadays.” But I just can’t make myself stop loving the sun — and I really want to believe it does more good than harm.

Honestly, if you avoid sunburn, is the sun’s effect on skin really that catastrophic? Is it really harsher than other everyday weather factors like wind or cold?

Maybe “aeroaging” and “cold-aging” just haven’t been branded yet, while “photoaging” got better PR?

And let’s be real — the positive effects are obvious. A tan slims you down, hides small imperfections, and gives skin that extra glow no cream can fake.

I also love how my light hair brightens in the sun — the result beats any salon highlights. Plus, the sun fills me with energy and lifts my mood. Am I really the only one who feels this?

And what about vitamin D? Isn’t it silly to swallow synthetic pills when you can get it the natural way? All this noise about a “massive vitamin D deficiency” sounds to me more like hype than reality.

Personally, I’ve managed to keep my vitamin D levels just fine without feeding the pharma industry.

So yes, the sun and I are on good terms. Though in Asia, women my age who want to preserve their looks are usually told to stay away from seaside vacations — or to wear something extravagant like this swimsuit:

And you? Where do you stand with the sun? Tell me in the comments!
